I can't pretend to know what you're talking about, though. Reminds me a bit of the different ways the old L-system fractals can colour. I wonder how the math works for the 3D pretties?

Yes they are L-Systems, some with branching, some without.

The math is fairly simple in this case, each vertex is assigned a value of the color gradient based on when it was created during modeling. The version on the right has the gradient applied before iterating the shape, the one on the left after
Neat work! Wish it was larger, though. :D

Thanks, This one was only a test of my coloring scripts, so it didn't need to be large. I don't think I kept the file for that one either.
